Steel protection structures. Steel protection structures are designed based on special interface requirements towards subsea structures. The protection structures are designed with top hatch to open/close, and mudmats, Apply Nemo has delivered protection to the Chinguetti field and the Stine segment-1 development. Steel structures combined with GRP grating or plates is an good alternative where one need to protect large “stand alone structures. The steel adds weight. The flexibility of the GRP material gives good protection against dropped objects and trawl gears.
