Retrofit hot tap tees
A hot tap tee is a structure attached to the pipeline, which may be drilled open during full main line production to form a branch connection point. Retrofit means that the hot tap tee is attached to an existing pipeline. Apply Nemo has delivered retrofit hot tap solutions including tees for two major development projects, and has also performed a number of related studies. The main design challenge is to make sure that the pressure containing capacity of the motherpipe is maintained, while the most demanding installation challenge is the (subsea, hyperbaric) welding of the tee onto the existing motherpipe.
